jade hunting in Hualien, Taiwan - 花蓮採玉
the stream where we hunt for jades-
checking for jades-
the jade found by our tour guide who gave it to us to make pendants for later on-
we were brought to this small factory/workshop called Taiwan Jade. the father who was incharge of the workshop gave us a basic introduction of Taiwanese jade and showed us the procedure of making our own jade pendants. the jade was cut into a few simple shapes for us to grind and polish (while we were not professional to deal with other steps, his sons help us with some steps like cuting, drilling, etc)-

these are smaller pieces of raw jade that could not be shaped due to its size-

moving house

before our new house was done, my brother requested a personalised book shelf from me. i drew the design based on typical shelves used in comic shops in taiwan. after the rough layout was done, i passed the design to the contractor to finish it off. the contractor did a great job and now my brother does not need to worry where he needs to store his mass collection of comics.
